playful kittens tossing aqua string
variegated yarn rolling everywhere
as tiny paws expertly bat and whack
those tabby paws and yarn entangling
then lightly springing up from the snare
stringing mischief from room to room
and when kitten paws begin to slack
sleep amid the yarn anxious to resume
