Cactus


















Stark
dry land
wilderness
bronze dust as far
as the eye can see.
Yet brave green arises
prickly needles poking
stabbing all those unaware.
and yet 'tis beautiful despite pain
majestic conqueror of the desert.

    As a desert rat, myself, I love this. Most people don't realize how much beauty there is in deserts. Nicely done form.

    Majestic conqueror it is. I have three little cacti on top of a bookcase - love the little spiny fellows even if they prick me now and again.
