Missing Childhood

for dVerse

Just a toy
Just a princess
Whose hands fall out
And in the wrong skirt.
And just a witch
With a missing leg,
But somehow I still have the foot.
The prince and the king
Still in mint condition.
Just a bit of Lego’s history
And mine.
History that brings the child-cry
Into my heart again and wishes
Just to play
And dream
With those toys
Forever.

  1. I enjoyed the nostalgic look back at childhood. So interesting that your history and Lego's history are entwined together. I think Lego's are timeless....perhaps as childhood really should be.

  8. oh this is so cool. And the theme is universal, to go back to childhood, with no pressures, no adult trivialities, I something i would be desperate to do. Really enjoyed your construction, i like the short sharp lines...just made this really engaging to read and I enjoy your style

  10. This reminds me of my Fisher-Price castle. The queen and prince went missing soon after they appeared under the Christmas tree. I always thought they must be stuck in the dark recesses of the dragon's cave. But after several moves and many more years, the king and princess still live in the castle, in the kingdom of my parents' basement.
