Here, where my mother knelt
with my father beside her
praying with love from eternity
for me,
for my brothers,
for every facet of our lives.
They hallowed the ground
where they worried, and loved,
And guided.
United.
Written for dVerse.
I like the idea of the love and prayers of a parent making an everyday place holy.
ReplyDeleteI think every generation build their own temple... love it.
ReplyDeleteYes, the family is a holy place for some.
ReplyDeleteThis is so sweet - it sounds like such a lovely memory!
ReplyDeleteGood point: "They hallowed the ground
ReplyDeletewhere they worried, and loved,
And guided."
This is a lovely tribute to your family and the connections they have given you. Sometimes we make pilgrimages to these connections too, they are places and moments that have a deep spiritual connection.

ReplyDeleteSo wonderful. Yes, the love of a family going out and consecrating the world is certainly a sacred thing. Thank you for this poem.
