A parade of elephants goes marching up and down
All dolled up in silk cravats and ruffled gowns
They sashay and foxtrot and do the hokey pokey
Round and round they go dancing about the town
They tumble and get back up and then repeat
There’s not one couple that can stay on beat
And the gentlemen are stepping on the ladies’ toes
For don’t you know, all elephants have two left feet
And when the dancing’s over for the night
The entire company will have such an enormous appetite
They’ll pull up chairs for a rich repast of cakes
And peanuts and scones topped with cream so frothy white
Written for dVerse.
