The Madding Night

Flaming sunset
Paints prim houses ghastly
Ocher, crimson, darkening blood
Specters glide by
Thin sheeted doppelgängers
Passing shuttered windows
Locked tight against the night
Penetrated by banshee cries
Orange glows on every porch
Pumpkin lanterns
Spark to life
Exchanging madding grins
With the ghouls

Madding - acting in a frenzied manner.

Merriam-Webster has an interesting article of Halloween words. Some are more specific than you'd think.
