things drifting; smoothed like sandy pearls.
Weathered smoothed until all points gleam.
And like all shells taken home,
washed sandy points taken become treasured.

ReplyDeleteI love the way the alliteration in the first line'Sea things weathered and washed ashore' conveys the sound of waves. I also like the idea of the sea weathering things 'smoothed until all points gleam'. Sea treasure has a magic of its own.
