The window stands open.
Rustling autumn leaves,
the breeze notices.
Taking the invitation
crosses the desk
where the book opens
and the leaves rustle
an invitation:
Ride with a gallant knight;
Lose yourself in the woods;
Fly though serendipitous clouds.
The book stands open.
Fly though serendipitous clouds.
ReplyDeleteThat I wouldn't mind doing!
That's an invitation I wouldn't turn down!
ReplyDeleteOh I love the idea of 'flying though serendipitous clouds':D Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful images in this. Love the final line about the book being open: an invitation to so many more adventures!
ReplyDeleteReading can take us anyway. Right now I'm hanging around Great Britain, at Cambridge to be exact, while enjoy sunshine and crisp weather in the Sierra Nevada.

An open book, an invitation to another world? How can one resist...especially with those "serendipitous clouds".
ReplyDeleteBest type of invitation... and almost often true (except my sister's diary)
