Magpie Tale 131
shared with dVerse
I remember sailing on the king’s river
On the river in the summer, watching the shore slip by
Slipping by old castles among new grasses
Among the grasses I thought I saw a bard
A bard he was I know, for he held a harp in his hand
With such a harp in his hand I heard him sing
Singing of days long gone flown with the wind
The wind itself stopped to listen, and so did time
The times of old slid back into their places
In their places princes courted smiling maidens
Smiling maids rescued threadbare tailors
Threadbare tailors found their thread again
And with their thread sewed all the world back up.
love how each line wraps around to the next makes this rather enchanting...what a scene too..i would love to live somewhere that had castles...the tailors sewing the world back together is cool as well....
ReplyDeletelove that the wind stopped to listen and even time itself...bit of magic in his singing and playing..
ReplyDeleteThis reminds me a little of Henry V111 going up the River Thames in his royal barge to Windsor Castle. Your imagery is lovely.
ReplyDeleteClever wrapping of the words from one line to another ~
ReplyDeleteLooks like a magical place, all wrapped up in music ~
Oh this is delightful I just loved the castles in grass and sewing the world back up... a lovely wander in your imagery.
ReplyDeleteFun journey back in time. Each event redeeming a deeper layer. Nicely done
