Magpie Tale 132

sharp winter beyond
window waits for summer sun
until then fire warms
without bright fire
electric heating shuns the
glinting snow without
two big red cherries
debate with the antique clock
when to light the fire
icicles out; fire in
by hearth chocolate cup
warm hands and warm heart
A heartwarming write indeed! :-)
ReplyDeleteI like the intercourse of the cherries and the clock...
ReplyDeleteVery haiku like...and very beautiful. I look forward to some cooling weather...but it will be quite a while yet.

ReplyDeleteYou almost make me wish for winter!
ReplyDeletesome really nice connective imagery here. The warmth with the hands and chocolate, antique clock, time, lighting fire, love windows wait for summer sun until then fire warms. Very nice piece. thanks
ReplyDeletegives a warm, cosy feel...lovely!!
ReplyDeleteI like the conversation between the cherries and the clock, too. Snuggle up!
