Starlit

Turn your sight to the sound as
Unicorns flit between the trees
Vanishing down the starlit walk
Where sharp crystal hooves rap
Xylophone-like on flagstones leaving
Yellowed notes in the autumn breeze

An alphabet sestet: A poem of six lines where each line begins with a consecutive letter of the alphabet.

Written for dVerse.

  2. We both used 'xylophone' and 'yellowed' :) But yours is a dream, mine a nightmare.

  11. Ah, my favorite fantastical beings, unicorns! I love this sestet and where it took me. The invitation to see and hear so that I found these words, especially, magical: "Vanishing down the starlit walk
    Where sharp crystal hooves rap
    Xylophone-like on flagstones"

  12. Very cool feelings:

As unicorns prance among magical trees .... I did not know that unicorns were so musical.
