An hour here; five minutes there
Cobble together the time
It’s still not enough
Between busy shades of life
Between musts and shoulds and
Cannot-do-with-outs
Time flying away in ragged swaths
But catch them, stitch them
They just might add up
There are never enough pieces of time to cobble together.
ReplyDeleteOh, yes. The older I get, the more I'm tryin' to shed my "shoulds."
ReplyDeleteOh this is so true in many of our lives. Well written.
ReplyDeleteThere's much food for thought in your poem about time!
ReplyDeleteCreative use of "cobble"...and we all can find creative ways of wasting/spending time :)
ReplyDeleteLike the way you used 'cobble'. I'm more about what I want to do, now that I'm older, than what I should do.
ReplyDeleteHear hear 💜 i guess when we grow older we gain clearer perspective of what we want!
ReplyDeleteI like the image of ‘time flying away in ragged swaths’.
ReplyDeleteHopefully we can find time in between busyness ~ I can relate ~
