Journey down to the sea
With bucket, spade, and me
Salt breeze catching the kite I carry
Making it a frolicsome fairy
You set me free to play
But are bent over your work
Solving the master equation
How many towers defend against invasion?
Looks like a fun time out in the sea with the bucket, sands and spade. Please build a tall sandcastle for me, smiles.
ReplyDeleteNothing can protect against high tide and wandering kids, but it sure sounds like a great day to be done. Thanks
ReplyDeleteOh may I please have a turn with the kite? What a wonderful time.

ReplyDeleteSomehow the play got a little bit sad with that last line... when even kids needs to think about fortifications... but I might have misunderstood the play.

ReplyDeleteOh, now I feel like going to the ocean. What fun.
ReplyDeleteThe undertone of a fear or worry in the final lines color the carefree, childlike verses and give the poem depth. You've crafted this well.
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice visualization of the life of a sandcastle!
ReplyDeleteHurry up with that master equation dear sweet frolicsome fairy for the natives are becoming quite weary. Lovely and fun!
ReplyDeleteThis is light, airy and free but I did feel the undertone...perhaps an undertow beginning to stir in calm waters.
ReplyDeleteI love this imagery of building the sandcastle!
