for dVerse
I rose up early
Before dawn
Waiting for the weaver
Plaiting colors
Of butter, coral, mauve
Across the robin’s egg domed sky
Fragile tapestry
Unraveling before day began
Scraps falling down
Catching in thorns
Blooming sweetly
Yet by any other name
Still a rose
What a great description of how sunrise starts every day off with a flowery feeling of peace.
ReplyDeleteEvery line is a lovely image...nicely done.
ReplyDeleteI love butter as a color! This is a beautiful description of the sunrise. I'd have to copy and paste the whole poem to state my favorite lines. Gorgeous.

ReplyDeleteI love the "fragile tapestry" of the sunrise...fragile because of its constant shifting and changing as the sun reaches higher. I too like 'butter' as a color...beautiful!
ReplyDeleteSo many lovely colors in your box.. Yes that's a rose
ReplyDeleteYes, still a rose. And I love the colors of the weaver:
ReplyDeletePlaiting colors
Of butter, coral, mauve
Gosh, this is beuatiful.
ReplyDeleteLove the double use of rose here, and the use of the word "plaiting" -- a gorgeous image.
ReplyDeleteI like this "fragile tapestry", the gentle colours of sunrise.
