winter gradually withdraws
stomping off clumps of snow
shaking off frosty icicles
leaving puddles behind
spring steps up barefooted
under cotton candy dogwoods
counting emerald clover leaves
calling to the violets and the dandelions
chickadees and cardinals sing back
together they greet the sun

i like the transition, where spring steps in the puddles left behind by winter. such an idyllic multisensory delight you have created

“Spring steps up bare-footed” - love that. Sounds like Spring is trying to sneak in quietly.
