Welcome to Scarology
Pass the bragging rights about
For whether in bravery
Or foolery
A story’s lurking there
Horrifying feats to be told
So pick up your trophy
Step up to the mic
And leave no detail out
We want to hear it all
for dVerse
"bravery or foolery" -- isn't that the truth? Our scars seem to come from one of the two, don't they? Great piece.
ReplyDeleteEach scar has a story, even those we cannot see.
ReplyDeleteThis is absolutely enthralling!
ReplyDeleteIt's interesting to think of an open mic night as telling about scars, but it sort of is. Interesting perspective.
ReplyDeleteA different response ~ I like the idea of scarology ~
ReplyDeleteOpen mike at Scarology! :) So clever here.......and isn't that the way? One-upmanship...you show me yours and I'll show you mine. Smiling I am over my second cup of Joe this morning! Well done!
ReplyDeleteBehind both bravery and foolery there are stories to tell. Good point.
ReplyDeleteScars do indeed have stories to tell, though some are more interesting than others. Take the story of the scar on my palm, for instance. It's so boring I won't even tell it.
ReplyDeleteThere are levels here. Whatever we think, there are masses who long to hear
ReplyDeleteGreat poem here. All scars have a story to tell.
ReplyDeletefoolery would probably be what I would bring when I stood on the block with a mic...
ReplyDeleteYou turn the showing of scars into poetry at an open mic. Love it!
ReplyDeleteOh, such fun!
ReplyDeleteOpen mic...scar nite...scar jam....scar(y) stuff ;)
