for Magpie Tales 295
Iridescent shadows flicker
Flitting through the sun
On my table, cheese for me
Beyond my window magpie waits
I've been dreaming
Cheese and apples, nuts and bread
The perfect autumn snack
But the magpie was dreaming too
For once my back was turned
My search for condiments begun
He slipped in without remorse
And my little snack
Became his scrumptious feast
